The Winter Festival of Lights in Niagara Falls, Ontario, is Canada’s largest lights festival. Running from November 3, 2018 to January 31, the festival attracts over one million visitors annually. It features a beautifully decorated eight-kilometre long lighting route that travels along the Niagara Parkway, through Dufferin Islands and surrounding tourist areas in Niagara Falls.

What are the donations used for?
The money collected at Dufferin Islands is used for ongoing maintenance and refurbishment of the Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights’ displays as well as to purchase additional illuminations.
Is there a cost to see the lights?
While there is no admission fee to view the illuminations, donations are gratefully accepted at the end of the 8km long illumination route at the exit of Dufferin Islands (suggested contribution $5 – $10 per car; $1 per person on buses). Festival Ambassadors are stationed there nightly to answer questions and cheerfully accept your donations.
Who collects the donations?
All proceeds are collected by Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights staff and volunteers, who volunteer their time nightly at Dufferin Islands.
How long are the lights on?
The Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights runs from November 3, 2018 to January 31, 2019. Both the illumination of the Falls and the Festival’s illuminations occur nightly from 5:00pm to midnight.
Can you walk the entire Niagara Parks Winter Wonderland lighting route?
While you can walk the entire length of the Niagara Parks Winter Wonderland lighting route along the Niagara Parkway, due to its length at over 8 km (5+ miles), we suggest you drive and then park in one of the parking lots located within the Parks to get a better view (or take pictures) of your favourite displays.

How do I volunteer?
We always have the need for volunteers and we’d love to accommodate you. You can register to become a WFOL Volunteer by completing our online application. Where are the lights and displays located?
The vast majority of the Festival’s lights and displays are located along an 8km (5+ mile) stretch of the Niagara Parkway between Clifton Hill and Dufferin Islands. Where can I park?
The Falls Parking Lot, a paid parking lot operated by The Niagara Parks Commission, is located across from the Table Rock Welcome Centre along the Niagara Parkway. Visit www.niagaraparks.ca for details. Parking is also available at the Skylon Tower parking lot located on Robinson Street and at Clifton Hill. Lastly, there is limited free parking within Dufferin Islands.
