The Residential category consists of single family houses, duplexes and individual townhouses. This category is segmented into wards with a first place prize awarded to a house in each ward.
The Multi-Residential category consists of apartment buildings and multi-unit residential complexes such as condominiums.
The Commercial category includes restaurants, attractions, hotels, motels, factories, offices, stores, and institutional facilities excluding those owned by the City of Niagara Falls.
The Bed & Breakfast category consists of bed & breakfast establishments.
The Neighbourhood category will be judged based on the best residential neighbourhood.
Entrants are judged on overall appearance, attractiveness, creative illumination, color coordination, and theme of their property when lit. Judging will be based upon the view from the nearest public roadway. Professionally decorated properties are not eligible. A property can be entered in one category only.
Volunteers will travel the city searching for entrants but you may also self-nominate, which is strongly encouraged. Entry Forms are available from the Winter Festival of Lights at 5400 Robinson St. or the City of Niagara Falls Parks, Recreation & Culture Department - MacBain Community Centre at 7150 Montrose Road. Entry Forms must be submitted by December 5, 2008.
